our purpose

We seek to establish an holistic centre for the study and practice of socially-engaged spirituality, for the purpose of training and supporting people from all backgrounds to live balanced lives of joyful, skillful and compassionate service... and, through these people, to create a happier, healthier, more peaceful world.

our vision

The Earthville Ashram model is an integrated centre for learning, healing, service, and connections, supporting us to transform ourselves and our world. It alchemizes several diverse elements – nonsectarian retreat centre, school, charitable social and environmental programmes, spiritual and healing activities, and more – in one space to create a diverse array of opportunities for participants to explore the richness of possibilities for living healthy and joyful lives of service.

our mission

The mission of Earthville Ashram is to provide inspiring educational, transformational, and service-oriented experiences that will:

  • Empower changemakers who are sensitive, compassionate, effective, healthy, and happy;
  • Bring more love and joy and spirit to activism, and more activism to spirituality;
  • Contribute meaningfully to the betterment of our local and global community; and
  • Advance the global conversation in the field of socially-engaged spirituality.

our timeline

In February 2006, we were invited by representatives of a village near Kalimpong, a Himalayan town in West Bengal, India, to create a centre on a perfect plot of land near their village. We are in the preliminary planning stages now, and hope to have a preliminary plan prepared by August 2006. Stay tuned!
